Hope Woodwork is a charity project of the Kingdom Way Trust, started in 2014 as the result of the vision of three local craftsmen who wanted to use their skills to enable others to fulfil their potential. Having started in a small unit in the Old Town area of Eastbourne, in 2016 Hope Woodwork moved to its current premises, the old Eastbourne Auction rooms. Over the past few years we have worked with over 100 individuals placed with us from over 25 agencies in Eastbourne, Brighton and across East Sussex.
The Hope Woodwork comprises of many volunteer supervisors, some with a previous career in woodworking and others are hobbyists, but all with a passion for helping individuals.
The Hope Woodwork project is managed by Ray Whitby, who used to be a research scientist then started building acoustic guitars. To watch some of his more recent creativity click below.
There is also a Placement Support Worker that directly supports the individuals on their journey at Hope Woodwork.
