WayMaker: Connecting homeless and street communities to services they need

Across Eastbourne and Lewes, accessing the right support at the right time can make all the difference.

That’s why Kingdom Way Trust, in collaboration with Eastbourne and Lewes Borough Councils', has launched WayMaker — a free app designed to connect the homeless community with essential local services. WayMaker makes it simple. Open the app and you’ll find clear, easy-to-use map markers showing:

  • What support is available

  • When it’s available

  • Where to find it

  • How to get in touch

All without having to provide any personal information. Even without internet access, the app continues to work offline — ensuring vital information is always within reach.

But WayMaker goes further. It also acts as an emergency alert system during Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) conditions, helping ensure people can quickly access shelter when the outdoor temperatures drop below freezing.

While the app brings everything together in one place, it’s part of a wider toolkit. Updated printable maps and searchable online maps are also available, making sure no one is left without access.

WayMaker isn’t just an app — it’s a pathway to support, connection, and hope.
